Philadelphia University was renamed Thomas Jefferson University when it merged with Jefferson in 2017. A private university in Philadelphia, Jefferson recently celebrated the opening of its College of Health Professions Physician Assistant Program in Voorhees, New Jersey, about half an hour outside of Philadelphia.

Dr. Michael Dryer, dean of the Jefferson College of Health Professions, said the program’s move to Voorhees will give students a convenient, all-inclusive location to study very close to the Jefferson Health New Jersey facilities.

The new campus features up-to-date technology, including an anatomy lab equipped with 12 cadaver tables, computers at each station, and access to Apple TV for online learning and research. The campus also has a simulation center that includes auscultation (vital sign) simulators and an adult patient simulator, as well as primary care, inpatient, and emergency room training areas.
